What was involved?
We had an extension added to our existing bungalow that turned it into a dormer bungalow with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It has a new roof as well as an extended roof from the original.
How did you choose Boyne Rock Ltd?
We did a Google search first of all to find builders. A big priority of ours was to find a builder who was available quickly because we had a newborn on the way and we wanted the extension completed beforehand.
It was through Google that we found Cormac and Boyne Rock. It’s a very professional outfit. They have someone in the office that you deal with on a day to day basis that was incredibly helpful. After first speaking to Cormac, it was clear straight away that he understood exactly what it was that we were trying to achieve. We saw photographs of work that he had previously carried out and he gave us a lot of confidence that he could do the job, it was a very positive experience. We had met other builders but they didn’t give us that same feeling of confidence.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Cormac Harten?
We already had plans put together from an architect but we needed some additional changes. So we got Cormac and part of his team to help us make some changes to the plans.
Did Cormac introduce new ideas?
Cormac had great input with regards to changes in the internal plans. With his suggestions, we were able to gain additional space in a bedroom and extending the walls out allowed us to gain extra square footage. He also had good ideas with the roofing aspect of the build.
How did the project run?
Excellent, absolutely excellent. I dealt with Greg, the foreman on a day to day basis and he was exceptional. He was responsible for the team doing the work and his advice was very helpful. From the initial scheduling to the quality of the work being carried out and through to completion, Greg made it a very positive experience. We were extremely satisfied. .
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Boyne Rock Ltd?
There were 3 things we wanted from the project; we wanted the extension built according to our needs, we wanted it to be done on budget and we needed the job done within the scheduled time because I was expecting. We were able to get all 3, in fact they accomplished more than we were expecting.
What’s your favourite part now?
The big open staircase is my favourite part. They put so much time and effort into making it fit in and complement everything downstairs. Their attention to detail was excellent.
Would you recommend Boyne Rock Ltd to others?
Absolutely and I have done so already.
Any tips for other people?
I would say to be open to change and to not allow yourself to be absolutely locked into one plan. Things can change during a build and you may find a better use of space or ways of doing things. Make sure that the finished build is going to meet your needs.

We had a great experience with Boyne Windows & Doors
On our appointment day John was the salesman that came to our home. John was great to work with. He was on time for the appointment, well prepared, pleasant, and very knowledgeable. John went through his sales presentation, answered our questions, gave us his best price.
The day of the install the installation crew were on time, professional and friendly. They cleaned up after they were done. After the installation we got a walk-through and tutorial on how to use our new windows and door.
After they were installed the first thing I noticed was how quiet our house was now. It’s one of the best upgrades to our house and it makes the house great inside and out. The temperature inside the house is pretty constant which is the main reason I replaced the old single-pane windows.
We absolutely love the way windows look and work(great quality).
We also had some building job done by Boynerock Extentions straight after windows installation.Excellent job was done by Greg and his team. He is knowledgeable, courteous, hardworking and passionate about his work.
We highly recommend Boynerock.

We were looking for Alu-Clad windows and came across Boyne Windows & Doors online. They called out and took measurements and discussed our requirements. They presented us with two options, the first being the Alu-Clad system and the second a Flush uPVC casement window. We were not aware that such a window was availbel. After reviewing the energy properties and styles availbel we went for the pvc flush windows. They look identical to Alu-Clad, lower maintenance, higher Uvale and above all half the price.
If your looking for something different to offset your home these windows are without doubt worth a look.

From our initial meeting to installation of our new windows and doors, we were kept in the loop at all times. They started early (very early 7.30) and finished all 8 windows and 2 doors by 7 pm that evening. The lads were polite and tidy.
Highly recommend them, if your in the market for windows or doors drop them a call. You won’t be disappointed

We came across Boyne Windows and Doors on Google. We arranged an appointment and John called to our home to measure and quote us. We live in a town house that overlooks a main road. Noise reduction was one of our priorities as we had a wee one on the way. I just presumed triple glazing was the way to go. Now I have to admit, John got a bit technical… Anyway he explained to us how sound waves penetrate through glass. He suggested double glazing with two different thicknesses of glass within the window frame. By combining this method the sound wave is disrupted and does not persist consistently through the glass. ( I told you he got technical)
Anyway, end result is a much, much quieter home and also a lot warmer. A bit of catch 22 as sometimes I have to open the window to cool the room down..
Also the windows look great. Highly recommend Boyne Windows and Doors
